Tuesday Top Releases | What's Publishing This Week

Hello booklings! Tuesday Top Releases is a list of the books publishing each week that caught my eye. Likely all books will be in the fantasy genre, and expect a healthy mix of YA and Adult. I'm sure I'll include a rogue contemporary or romance in here and there, especially if there's a lot of interest-worthy buzz. I don't promise to read all the books on the list, but I'll pick my "most anticipated" release each week and make sure to link my review if I was lucky enough to score an ARC from the publisher beforehand. Happy reading!

Because You Love To Hate Me | Ameriie

Published: July 11, 2017

Synopsis:

"Leave it to the heroes to save the world--villains just want to rule the world.

In this unique YA anthology, thirteen acclaimed, bestselling authors team up with thirteen influential BookTubers to reimagine fairy tales from the oft-misunderstood villains' points of view.

These fractured, unconventional spins on classics like "Medusa," Sherlock Holmes, and "Jack and the Beanstalk" provide a behind-the-curtain look at villains' acts of vengeance, defiance, and rage--and the pain, heartbreak, and sorrow that spurned them on. No fairy tale will ever seem quite the same again!

The Savage Dawn | Melissa Grey

Published: July 11, 2017
Genre: YA Fantasy

Synopsis:

"The sides have been chosen and the battle lines drawn.

Echo awakened the Firebird. Now she is the only one with the power to face the darkness she unwittingly unleashed . . . right into the waiting hands of Tanith, the new Dragon Prince. Tanith has one goal in mind: destroy her enemies, raze their lands, and reign supreme in a new era where the Drakharin are almighty and the Avicen are nothing but a memory.

The war that has been brewing for centuries is finally imminent. But the scales are tipped. Echo might hold the power to face the darkness within the Dragon Prince, but she has far to go to master its overwhelming force. And now she’s plagued by uncertainty. With Caius no longer by her side, she doesn’t know if she can do it alone. Is she strong enough to save her home and the people she loves?

Whether Echo is ready to face this evil is not the question. The war has begun, and there is no looking back. There are only two outcomes possible: triumph or death."

Gork, The Teenage Dragon | Gabe Hudson

Published: July 11, 2017
Genre: YA Fantasy

Synopsis:

"Gork isn't like the other dragons at WarWings Military Academy. He has a gigantic heart, two-inch horns, and an occasional problem with fainting. His nickname is Weak Sauce and his Will to Power ranking is Snacklicious--the lowest in his class. But Gork is determined not to let any of this hold him back as he embarks on the most important mission of his life: tonight, on the eve of his high school graduation, he must ask a female dragon to be his queen. If she says yes, they'll go off to conquer a foreign planet together. If she says no, Gork becomes a slave.

Vying with Jocks, Nerds, Mutants, and Multi-Dimensioners to find his mate, Gork encounters an unforgettable cast of friends and foes, including Dr. Terrible, the mad scientist; Fribby, a robot dragon obsessed with death; and Metheldra, a healer specializing in acupuncture with swords. But finally it is Gork's biggest perceived weakness, his huge heart, that will guide him through his epic quest and help him reach his ultimate destination: planet Earth."

Very excited about the anthology - preordered and everything! To be binge read during my camping and beach vacation coming up. Ash And Quill is the third installment in the Great Library series, which I didn't love the first book so it's up in the air if I will continue. But those covers!
Which of these will you be adding to your TBR shelves? Links for all are below!
